Almost done with coop. It's built to match our house. Grey with reddish trimand cedar shake roofing. I plan on painting the inside either a sunny yellow like my kitchen or robins egg blue...hopefully either one of those colors will be soothing and encourage egg laying!!
Ours is done to resemble the house; white body and "harmonic tan" window trim with antique grape? (a purple color) doors.
But I did the coop body the harmonic tan, kind of a yellow-green color, white trim and sections/doors in Purple.
Hopefully, in the next week or two, I will have time to finish painting the coop and finish the picket fence next to it and finally take some finished photos.
Well sort of finished, I still need to make them a small run, they free range most of the time.
What a fun thread!!! I love seeing everyone's coops! I want to paint mine a shabby turquoise-y color with white trim. Or maybe even apple green. Hmmm.....
We're building a new bantam coop right now. The exterior will be "Fog Bank", a gray with a greenish cast; trim will be Victorian Garnet (I have those on hand already). The interior will be some combination of paints I picked up on the Oops! shelf at Home Depot:
My main coop is a dark forest green with Victorian Garnet trim, but the interior is not painted at all. Used to be "Fog Bank" with white trim, but I got tired of that.
I love the color schemes on everyones coops. They have given me many ideas. Mine is still a work in progress so its plain T-111 plywood, tarp blue roof trimmed in snow. gotta love the mountains of Pa. Come on SPRING!!!!
We painted ours with "Barn and Fence" brand paint from Lowe's. The color reads "Barn Red". I was hesitant to paint it that color but went ahead anyway. Now I really like it.
The trim is the same brand paint but just plain "Fence White".
