Added framework for the nest, flooring & the sub-roof:

Sillybirds - great tip, I will block off the "crawl space".

balk - Never thought of using pine needles, and yes we have a couple laying around!

Good garden of peas, do you live near me? I was laying in bed at 4am trying to figure how I'm going to fit the nest boxes and roost in my converted garden shed and still have a space for my garden tools. Yu are so cool. The outside nest boxes are nice and I hope I can figure out how to build them. I just get so tired. Wish I have lived here when I was younger. Congrats, I think your pretty smart. Almost makes me wish I was your chicken

This weekend I finished the roof, installed nest dividers and south wall plywood.

Progress has been slow due to other commitments. Here showing door frame, roost boards (obscured) and plywood on the west wall except the nest cover.
