Thanks everyone!! With all the great coops out there I was shocked that we were even in the running! What an honor!! Hubby is beaming from ear to ear. I think this might just be the motivation he needs to help me start the next coop project...

Congrats to all the winners and other submitters! I think everyone did a great job, and it's also wonderful to know that our combined contributions to this contest will help others in their quest to build a home for their chicks. I know this site was a real boon to me when I was drawing up my coop plans.

Wow! A big THANK-YOU to everyone out there from us as well!! Certainly wasn't expecting to win anything -- a nice surprise. As I said on the page, inspiration for our design ultimately came from all the other coops designs shared on this site, so thanks again to all who have shared previously!

I will try to post some new pics to the page when I get some time -- chickens are now running free in the yard during the day and have pretty much completely detroyed what was left of the summer garden (they even ate the onions and garlic). Also have a good movie clip from couple days ago of when the hens caught and ate a mouse (!!) -- our cat has some competition to worry about now...

Thank you so much for the award -- my husband is thrilled that our coop was one selected for recognition.

And a huge THANK YOU to all of the BYCers that helped us with coop design and answered my gazillions of questions. You are a resource that goes beyond any book or article that exists.

Our girls are loving the coop and have started blessing us with eggs. We are reaping the rewards of our efforts!

Finally had some time to sit and look at all the winning designs.

First, I want to say that everyone did a great job! There are some lucky chickens out there!
Second, I want to say thank you! to all those who liked our coop/shed design. It was a project to build for sure! And, really, the winners were everyone here on BYC who answered all of my questions, dumb ones included, while we were designing and building! You all helped make the coop the great chicken home that it is.
