Your girls looks so friendly and happy in their home. One wonders how much a chicken really knows...did they know that you were building that wonderful coop for them?
I think it's awesome. Blood, sweat and tears awesome.
Very nice coop worth the effort. Thanks for the xray couldn't help but notice the extra metal already included in your ring finger! I always griped at mt wife because she would not let me get a nailer.....now I know why
Directions:
1) Have a friend with a truck or SUV pick these up the pallets for you.
2) Have a friend tie and cut enough rope to tie 2 together. (we all want your hand to heal)
3) Rope together all corners
4) Fill with chicken litter
5) All litter to decompse (like, over the winter)
6) Dissassemble to use compost
What a gorgeous coop! Your girls are very lucky. Your hand though... ow! That made me wince so much. What's the treatment for that, exactly? Ice and vicodin?
Good looking coop! The girls will appreciate it! You probably will not build any more coops and buy prefab buildings or wooden storage shed ready to be used.
I can't wait for my DH to get home so I can show him your post. You did a beautiful job, sorry about the hand, I can't even imagine how that felt!! I had to laugh reading it, we too are new to this and just finished our very over budget coop. But I have to say my girls are happy!!
