So I'm making some headway... I decided to break down that entire prefab box and just use the free lumber from it to help with a whole new build. Still got a lot to do, but for one days work I think its coming along...
Its now 36" off the ground so that the run is technically going to be 4'x8' larger. I've also added a slant to the roof. The front frame is 3.5' tall, while the rear frame is 3' tall. The roof is 5'x8' to incorporate overhang on both the front and rear. Also, the legs are sunk 10" into the ground to help ensure that thing isn't going anywhere. Next steps are to add the brooding area and human doors. Then I'll get to the 5'x8' completely caged in run in the front. This will equate to a total run area of 9'x8' which equals 72 sq ft. Plenty off room for 6 birds. I'll keep you guys posted as I complete the build.
