I looked at this - simply gorgeous! Show hubby - I can't imagine he wouldn't be inspired, too. Beautiful chickens with great names, too!
I am single -- but I know it's very frustrating to have to wait on someone else to do things or to help you.
I am also 50 years old, short, female and I built my coop by myself. Hey, if you start building even if you don't know what you're doing, hubby might jump in there and "help" you. I used the plans from www.thegardencoop.com and think they're pretty good for a beginner with no experience. They might also give your hubby some ideas.
Good luck!!! I know what it is like to have chicks in the house for four weeks. They're cute but after 4 weeks the noise and the dust and general messiness does get old.
