Proud and happy to oblige. It is still very much a work in progress.

This is from the entrance. All the dirt will be my herb gardens.

This is my future orchard, behind a blueberry hedge.

In the center of it all I am putting benches and a table under a grape arbor.

Sigh. Sooooooo happy.

There will come a time soon when I will be sitting under my grape arbor, throwing grapes to the chickens and drinking a bloody mary made from my own tomatoes. That's what I keep promising my husband, except when I tell him the story I am throwing the grapes to him

But the plan is that since we live in California, we can move into it, after the big one comes !!!!!

Don't know what took me so long to see your post, but I was looking at your pictures and said to my wife, "This is really a nice coop. Somebody did a fantastic job." LOVE IT!

EDIT: "...That's what I keep promising my husband, except when I tell him the story I am throwing the grapes to him wink..."

After what he's done, you should PEEL them for him first.

Except that HE didn't build it. I could peel grapes for Mike, the guy who built it, but I am not sure my husband would go for that. LOL
But I will peel him a few because he has been so supportive of my insanity.

I made the raised beds super deep. Holds moisture better, and it saves your back.
The downside is that it takes a LOT of soil and compost to fill them, and you have to get on a ladder to harvest your tomatoes.
But I have been doing deep beds like this for years and love them. I just finished putting in a table and chairs under grape arbors in the center of the garden. I get up at 6 to take care of chicks and garden, and by 8 all the family is out there, reading the paper, harvesting, weeding, and feeding chickens. Without asking !! Pretty cool.

Sounds romantic and perfect...however, if my whole family is outside, I'd run for the bed and take a nap! LOL (I have little ones that wake me up all too early still!) LOL
