Very very nice. And they have a place to hide from the rain and get shade. I did that too. Have you thought about adding an apron flat on the ground to prevent digging into the run? I like it.

Actually, on the bottom of the entire run under the sand I put a 1"x2" style of wire across the whole thing. So nothing should be able to dig under the run and get through.
That coop is awesome! I think it looks great with just the one coat of paint, makes it look slightly rustic/weathered. What color of red is that? Good job - well thought out also.
Awesome! I think you're smart to kid-proof the run! My daughter left the door open to ours last weekend and my favorite rooster escaped. Unfortunately my stupid dog got him before I noticed. She felt horrible! I love everything you did. Looks great!
Very nice job, I like it. My coop and run have locks as well. If I can give you one piece of advice it would be to put a small flap of something weather proof over the locks to prevent icing. It doesn't take much moisture to freeze them up, a lesson I learned.
Nice coop! I am in NW Ohio too. Where abouts are you located? Can I ask where you bought 1200 #s of sand? I would love to get a bulk load and be done with it.
Thanks!

I'm in the Genoa/Martin area. I got the sand from Gladiuex Lumber in Oregon, they loaded it into my pickup, cost about 10 or 12 bucks. It's a little finer than I wanted, I was hoping to get something a little more gritty like Lake Erie beach sand, but this will do.
