Chirping
Last night my chicken coops caught on fire. I lost 55 chickens, but 14 made it alive. One of them ended up with her feet burnt. Can I put burn cream on her feet?

I don't have any I was going to go buy some. A lot of her feathers got burnt off and her neck is swollen. She wouldn't drink until I used a syringe and then she drank a little on her own. She hasn't eaten anything though. I mixed a baby asprin in with a gallon of water to let her have some pain meds. Most of the birds left to not seem to have any injuries or burns. She is the worst. There are 2 more hens that have some bunt feathers as well, but they are doing well and eating and drinking.Welcome, and I'm so sorry!
What burn cream? Silvadene is the best for this, but what do you have?
Look at your survivors for injuries, because burns can take a couple/ few days to be apparent. Is everyone eating and drinking?
All the best,
Mary
thank you and its fine. The heat lamp fell we think and caused a fire. We have 3 coops all together and it was in the one in the middle. The heat lamp in that part was definitely the cause of the fire.Sorry about your flock! Keep on helping the survivors. I’m very sorry and don’t
mean to intrude but how did it happen?
