What can I use for a coop assuming I don't get one built in the 12 days I have left to move the household AND build a coop? 5 full grown red sex link chickens I gotta pick up on the 28th.
I have no shed, no barn, trying to do it all and I'm overwhelmed.

A hoop coop might work. East and fast to build.
Where are you located? Climate will dictate what will work best for you.

virginia, in the country. it rains a LOT. That will work for a home they can roost in? I have a pen coming, but nowhere for them to sleep

Welcome to BYC. Where, in general, are you? Climate matters.

If you can get electric poultry netting you can use a non-secure coop-substitute like this iteration of my integration pen inside the netting.

It's not predator-proof, but it kept a few birds for several months inside the secure fence.
i'll try to see if I can fix something like it. it has to be water proof though

this is being delivered today. Large Metal Chicken Coop Walk-in Poultry Cage Hen Run House ... Anti-Ultraviolet Cover for Outdoor Backyard Farm Use (9.2' L x 12.5' W x 6.4' ...
So I'll have somewhere for them to be outside, but I need to get hardware cloth I know. But it's raining here in virginia ALL the bloody time it seems. They need somewhere out of the rain. [i thought I would have more help than is forthcoming, so I need to figure out something quickly]

I converted a vinyl shed. Super easy. I bought it new, but you can probably find a used one. Hoop coops are good, too. I built a coop in 5 days out of recycled materials. Pallet coops are easy, too. Lots of options!

so help me think? I'm getting 5 full size red sex link chkns. I get a sheet of plywood, 4x8. I put 4 posts under it as legs. I get 2 more sheets and maybe have wherever I buy them to cut them down for the sides. I figure out how to put the sides up. Cut square holes for windows, 2, for cross ventilation. Put heavy wire over them. Face it out of the wind. [hopefully], somehow figure out how to put a door in. put in 1 box of whatever in for now for them to lay in. get some straw at tractor supply, throw it in. get a feeding tray, a water jug at tractor supply, cause I think that's the only place that has this stuff. get some feed, put up a couple of 2x4's for roosts, but how?
oh, I need another sheet of plywood for roof at a slant. God help me, I don't think I can do it.
