Good Golly! I thought I'd post and boast about my plans for adding another 45 sq ft onto my existing coop, but I've been upstaged! I'll not tell my birds about this, seeing as how there's 19 of them now in what I've already got, wouldn't want them to know about your palace! I think your coop looks amazing! You could have pigs too! I am so jealous.
I have added on to my coop stepping up a hill . What a mess for me. Wish I had had the sense to build big when i started. You always need space for a grow out pen next to the main layers so adding them to the flock will be easier. A place for feed and tools, an area for broody hens etc. See what I mean by more space. It is looking good. Follow your dream and enjoy. gloria Jean
Looks like 20 sq ft per chicken 15 chickens, 4 horses, and the tractor, all the space will be used up. It's not really that big. But then there is always the upstairs.
I'd say somebody is living on a mighty fine retirement. And it ain't me.
You have the whole package! Your property, home, chicken coop, etc. are just spectacular. Oh, and not to leave out the spectacular hubby who's doing this. What a great guy!
Thanks for all your nice comments! The coop won't be big enough for any equipment. My husband and I run a cranberry marsh and excavating business. He also collects WWII military vehicles, so there is nothing but LARGE equipment. Dozers, frontloaders, trucks, etc. And more tools than will ever fit in this coop. Guess I'll have to keep my chickens! Works for me!
