Hi, I live in Western Wa, and a first time chicken owner. I have 6, 6weeks old. 2 each, silver Wyandotte, Rhode Island Red, and Dominique. They seem very healthy and are growing fast.
we‘re finishing the coop now and I plan on putting them out in the next couple of weeks. The weather here Is pretty mild, but can be below freezing and 40-60’ daytime. I’m sure when they are fully grown they’ll be fine. my question is, will the transition to colder temps be too stressful, should I get a heater for the first few weeks in the coop?

At 6 weeks they should be totally off heat, and exposed to some outside air by day trips outside and an open window in the brooder room.
As long as they are dry and out of direct wind in the coop, they'll be fine out there.
