Coop help pleaseeee

OK, so i put my new chicks in the coop today. i know i know it was very hard for me, ive grown very attached to them. However, they wont stay in the hutch with the nesting boxes, instead they want to stay on the run. Is this normal, how can i get them up into the hutch at night???? Anybody please..................

I finally finished my run a few days ago. My chicks are 2months old and have been staying in the coop. I was worried the first day they were out that they wouldn't know to go back in the coop. I read here on BYC if you put a light on in the coop as it gets dark that they will go to the light. The chicks were clucking around and seemed upset that it was getting dark so I plugged up the heat lamp that was in there and they immediately went into the coop, then I turned the light back off and closed the door. It worked like a charm!

When I put new chicks in a coop, I leave them locked in for a couple of days, so they know where home is.
