Interesting.

I am not huge fan of using tarps as shade covering. I prefer to use mesh/screen. It not only provides shade but it also lets heat rise and directly escape. Breezes are let in much easier. And on that note wind is less of a problem. Air passes through so less flapping and lasts longer. Not to mention that water doesn't collect in the low spots.

I totally agree as the water from rain would always make mine sag really bad.

make mine sag really bad.
Learned my lesson long ago. Got my daughter one of those above ground 30ft inflatable pools. Put 8 4x4 posts and bought an expensive no-rip (take note of that) tarp and made it all nice and tight. daughter had a blast with her friends. Was great for two days, until it started raining. rained for a week. That tarp held up, as promised no rip but it sagged full of water right down into the pool. The posts were looked like bows(and arrows). Was scared they might launch. Well it finally stopped raining and you think, the sun not being out, that there would be no algae. Well you would be wrong and the lack of circulation, being all the water was on top of the tarp, made it worse. Well thanks to the NO-RIP I could not cut the tarp. VERY NICE TARP LOL. Would have lasted forever if it was not for the mildew and algae all over it. It stunk. 🥺😢😭. Had to completely empty the pool and scrub every inch of it. Had to do it twice. treated it with everything on the market. Well except vinegar, that I didn't really think of at the time. Had Dain Bramage I guess. Felt like the worst dad ever.

Eventually had to do the whole thing over but I got here the 40 footer to make up for it. But instead if the regular tarp I used the Harbor freight 12ft x 20 mesh tarps. stitched them together and I was back on the best dad ever list.
