This is one of the better built coops I've seen!!<---better than a lot of people do their own houses......'bird-mouth' cut outs and notches and all......real corners and vinyl flooring......I am one of the people that get the chicks first, then worry about the coop, etc...., haha---I think most are!
You will have some lucky chickens that will love their home!!!

Oh yeah...I've kept a record. That's why I joke to my neighbors that I'd have to sell my eggs for $20 a dozen for a year make it worth my while...lol. We're about at $980, including the wire and lumber for the run that we've already purchased. I still have to get insulation and some kind of cheap covering for the inside walls. I'm hoping some leftover materials that we'll be returning will help cover that cost. But you know, it's worth it.... or it will be soon enough

Your coop looks fantastic! As far as finishing it since you don't get much snow I think you would be fine by putting a coat or two of deck sealer on the inside seeing as it would have plenty of time to dry. Also with the two windows and that great door you should have no problems with ventilation after you get chicks. Remember to have electircity nearby to use for heat and keeping the water ice free. Looks like you will have some lucky chickens whenever you get them!

Hey everyone! I added a few pics of this week's progress. For some reason, finishing my pop door was the highlight for me today...lol. The run is taking FOREVER, but we've made good progress on it...
