Coop in the making

PEI Chicken. Thanks for the reply. I've ordered 2 SPPR's and they are due in April/May. Once my chicks are here I will definitely update my profile. I can't wait to be a chicken owner!!!! Now, can we get this weather to improve....

Yippee! :weee I'm so happy to hear that you are going to get some SPPRs.. I hope you are as happy with yours as I am with mine.Where are you ordering them from? If they turn out well, I may order some too. Please post lots of pics when you get them.

Snowing again. Drat it!!

Here's an update on the progress of the coop.

Started adding pallet wood siding to the coop to give it a rustic look. It will also add some insulating value.

Siding finished. I think it looks awesome. The wood will fade to a nice weathered grey in a few months.

I also started and finished the brooder. My chicks should be arriving at the end of the month so I wanted to be prepared to receive them.

The brooder measures 5' x 3' x 2'. It looks huge!!!. I am only receiving 8 chicks so they will definitely have enough room to grow.

I have all my supplies ready, now bring on the chicks!!!!.
