Coop interior

I received a coop and 10 birds from a family member who couldn't take the chickens to their new home. The coop needs some work and I still have to construct the run. The interior walls are roof sheathing. Since I live in Missouri, I know this stuff won't last with the humidity. Will painting keep this from flaking apart? I also need to find some vinyl for the floor. And how high should the nesting boxes be off the floor? These are lavender orpingtons about 6 months old.

Not sure about the painting but it's best if the nest boxes are on or near the floor, definitely lower than the roost.

Please post some pics of coop, inside and out.
Might just be able to tear them out, no need for inner wall sheathing.
