Well, we bought four chicks at the county fair, turned out to be three pullets and a roo. They are 6 weeks old. Hubby and ds are busy building a palace for them and an enclosed run. For now we have three in a large rabbit cage, one pullet in isolation with a broken leg (cat attack)

and am already thinking that I should get more, before the coop is done. Is this a good idea? Since I could then introduce all of them to the coop together in four weeks or so, after quarantine time? What do you think?
(We will be giving away the roo, soon.)

Henhouse is 3x6x4H, run is 6x10x8H. I'm thinking four more...

Any input is appreciated!

Well, your coop sounds like its only big enough for 4 regulars and a bantam (18 sq feet). I would say add on to the coop and get more (that's what I did and I'm happy with my 25 chickens).

i know the feeling!! i want more but have to wait till spring, after my husband builds my second coop!! that gives me a chance to really do some home work on what kind of chickens i want to add
