Coop is almost finished (It's Done!!!!)-now for the run

Until I found this site, I never heard of putting linoleum down, but it makes sense, very easy to clean. I saw some at Home Depot for about $40, just the right size, it's just that herself will use it every time there's a job around the house...."the chickens get a linoleum floor, but can I get the breezeway restored...noooooo" haha

As I was inside nailing up the hardware cloth, I too was thinking about where to place the bunk...

Thanks for the kind words, can't wait till it warms up some to bring the ladies out there!

So, I finally finished my 8x12 coop and put the 26 RI Reds (5 weeks old today) out there this past weekend. I picked up a linoleum floor at Lowes for $40, I took an old wooden extension ladder and put plywood scraps on one side and then used it as my Sweet PDZ poop box. The chicks won't roost at night yet, they pile into a corner, but soon it will make clean up much easier.
I built a portable set of stairs so I can move it away for clean outs or just to stand in the doorway and admire my girls in the evening when the work is done.. I have a few that will climb in my hand already, makes it all worth it when they do that.
Not sure where the run will go, not in the front though. And my nest boxes will be installed under the high roost in the back when the time comes. They will be outside access type. The lower roost on the left will be raised when the chicks get bigger. I put two roosts in, 12 foot for 26 chickens seemed too short, so now they will have plenty of room.

This looks fabulous!! I think you have plenty of room and roosts for your birds. Excellent planning and use of your space! I think you'll be very happy with it. I personally LOVE all the windows and the cross ventilation that is going to give you when the summer is most brutal.
