Okay thank you! I will look into doing that, it’s easy enough to cut the metal out so we’ll def get something figured out!I'm sorry, but those are completely inadequate for chickens.
You need square feet of ventilation, not square inches. The usual guideline is 1 square foot per adult, standard-size hen or enough that the temperature and humidity is the same inside and out.
Cutting large vents at the top and bottom of the roof slope, covering them with hardware cloth, and using the cut pieces to make awnings for them would be an easy option.

We got the electric metal shears and the self-tapping screws. The battery-powered impact driver made it all so easy to handle.
