Coop lighting power cuts affect egg laying?

I've just installed coop lighting for my chickens about 2 weeks ago. We are heading into winter here in New Zealand. I haven't had any eggs yet, but last night the power went out and came back on after the sun was up. My question is, how will that affect my hens? Will power cuts like this make my supplemental lighting program pointless?

Is the lighting on a timer, what times does it usually come on and off??
How often do you have power cuts?
If power is lost frequently it could definitely be a problem.
If just once in a great while, it should be ok, you'll just have to reset the timer as soon as the power comes back on.
