Possible to wind/snow proof the run, or at least part of it?

Yes. Was hoping to snow proof some of the run and let them out. Just getting hit with our first snowstorm in North Dakota! Wasn’t quite prepared for this yet

I do too...runs to a power strip, so can run lights and chick heater too.

What kind of light do you use?

I use a 60W equivalent CFL on a timer for winter laying,
it runs until about noon so I can see to do chores on cloudy days.
I use a head light to head counts and exams at night after dark.
