Hi everyone, my bf got chickens a few years ago and I just moved in with him and sort of taken over for caring for them. I love them! They are so funny:) I think most people from the site are from the states... I'm in canada, any other Canadians on here? Here's a photo of my favourite chicken Wilma. She's three and a half years old.

Welcome! I'm stateside but I'm sure we have plenty of Canadians on the site. Head on over to New Member Introductions and tell us a little more about yourself. And again...:welcome

The Cozy Nesting Coop is empty.... all my chickens died in a duel snake and hawk attack at the same time, because the hawk was chasing the snake but got distracted by one of my chickens, killed it, saw another till all 5 were dead.... but thinking about getting more soon after security measures are taken.

I'm so sorry for the loss. I have had some chickens attacked by hawks, too. It is very sad. They are now in covered runs. One with avian netting and another with welded wire top to keep out racoons as well.

(I am a fan of Bramahlot,too)

I am.... and as a matter of fact, in a week I will be getting eggs (to incubate) of a great breed... But need to fix the security and fences first. I did my research on Brahmas and they are really good as pets and also good free rangers.... and with 10 acres of fenced-in land, they might as well be free range! But anyway, I need to drive that bad hawk away... And no I'm not getting the Brahmas on impulse.... I was already thinking about a choice between the Brahma and a breed I now cannot recall now, but the Neverending Story of Brahmalot just made me make my choice between the two breeds. Also, I did my research, and they'd be PERFECT for my yard and they are cold hardy too, good thing here in PA! Sorry for long post!
