Hello! I’m starting this thread for myself to document my chicken journey. I was given hatching eggs for Jungle Fowl, and possible Terrorfowl from a close family friend with a breeding project. A month later for Mother’s Day, my kids gave me micro Serama hatching eggs that they ordered to be mailed.

On May the 4th, Hatched 11 crackers/jungles/terrors, really not sure what’s what just yet. On May 30, Hatched 2 Seramas.

They are all doing awesome! Some less than ideal situations (like not having a coop ready in time) have made me need to pivot a few times, but so far all good! And, my custom built coop will be ready in ten days! I’m going to decorate it like Jurassic park, saw the idea maybe here or on Pinterest and it suits these little raptors perfectly.

Hatching was…fascinating. Inspiring. I’m still talking about it and recommending everyone I know to do it at least once! Truly watching a miracle.

I made mistakes. Sure. But I learned from them!

Funny story, the only instruction I was given for the dinosaurs was “Whatever you do, don’t let them imprint on you.” Repeated. Multiple times. Reiterated. Reinforced.

Oops.

I’ve attached a few photos of the gang!!! Would love to see yours and talk chickens!!!

PS: Seramas are from Akers Farm, highly recommend!

Check out the book Survival Chickens for more info on my mini dinosaurs!!

Every honest chicken keeper will admit to making at least a few mistakes! That's how we learn to do better.

Do they all live and sleep together all the time? Or, are the tiny Seramas too delicate to spend much time with the others?

Looking forward to seeing how your babies grow!
Hello!! The Seramas live in my living room for now lol. They’re in a wooden tortoise cage with windows and screen top, it’s really perfect for them at this age!
Still trying to decide on what I want for permanent housing for them.
