new to chickens and I am thinking of increasing from 4 hens to 8 and I will be building a larger coop. our tractor is in a small orchard area with raised beds for veggies. if I build the new coop in this area will the hens eat my wifes veggie plants thru the summer? Thanks in advance for the help

Hi, and welcome.

If your hens have access to the veggies, then most definitely, they will eat them.

Welcome to BYC.
Concrete floors are not bad for chicken to walk on. Just keep bedding on the floor for them to walk on and scratch through.

from my experience chickens will eat or dig up anything they can get too. I plant a section especially for my chickens so they can get fresh produce, but anything I want to keep for the family is outside their fenced area.
