Stip means dot but than in dutch so stip is with the yellow. Vlerk (one of the words for wing and little rascal in Dutch ) is the other one

@Miss Lydia I added a picture of my female call duck born 2016 (just after mating, misses some neckfeathers) the boy has had hit by a car, so my callduck was so unhappy, brought her to a callduck specialist. At least in the Netherlands the bloodlines are few with white calls. So he was more than happy to provide company for her if he could use her for breeding. she won first price of waterfowl last januari. And will get offspring from her and another bloodline in autumn.

Aww thanks! She was quacking her heart out. So we brought here to a place with other duckies as quick as we could! Males and hormones...

Exciting times. Introducing them to stip and vlerk, thinking about names etc.
The coop gets an internal bag today or tomorrow.

Hi everybody,

My Cayuga ducklings grew out their brooder and are ready to move into the next home, a coop.
I found this little house on a local selling platform and tomorrow I’m going to collect it.
Needs some maintenance ofcourse but I like how it looks already.
This will only be for sleeping as the ducks will partly free range and a run has to be made as well from when I’m away

thought I start a thread here so you guys can give suggestions if you feel like it and follow my progress (And I can see mine ☺)

the mushrooms are not included in the sale, but for a small price I can have them too. Still thinking about that

Yes my Cayuga’s are quite big now. 4weeks and 3 days. The calls will be around 5-7 weeks when I go and get them. This is a top Breeder and he keeps the best for the shows. I like a good looking bird but if they are more pet quality it doesn’t bother me to much. But that’s why I get them only after 5-7 weeks

no I don’t although my last call won first price in a show. But the breeder where we brought her to took her, I didn’t. Since he got the chance to breed with her we get the chance to choose two ducks. One unrelated and one of her offspring. We don’t have to have the most perfect birds. If they are happy and we like how they look it’s ok. for us it’s accidental if we have show quality ducks. The calls will be 5-7 weeks so a bit of grownups already. But ofcourse the Cayuga’s will outgrow them by far!

My ducks (all 6) don’t like to sleep inside the coop. They all stay on the open water or in the “wild” let’s say. I know it’s a risk and don’t like it but also don’t like to captivate my ducks

I have a vacant house now... should I get some chickens too? what do you think?
