tweakster, yes, I have a 12 x30 shed, and the chicken area will be 4 x 12 (8 chickens)
Looking at that last picture, there are double doors (which are side doors on the shed itself),the pop door will be either in the bottom of one of those or on that wall , lead out to a 12 x 18 fenced area. I sectioned the shed off on the side with the double doors to make for easy cleaning, ability to open up the doors if I want. There will also be a huge window installed in one of the double doors.

It's not hard hard, nor really soft, plan on covering with a good layer of shavings, if I think they are going to start pecking at it, I'll remove it and put down linoleum.. The mat was a good deal I couldn't pass it, hopefully they'll leave it alone, but we shall see

the box themselves are on the inside of the shed area,(Pic 1) so the chickens have more room
