Coop Questions for Kentucky/Midwest

You will be much happier with a walk-in coop and run. Insulation isn't really needed, BUT an insulated roof will help with summer heat. Also shade; trees, shrubs,, and maybe vines. Select breeds that will do well in your climate, and forget about a heat lamp! Electricity is a good thing in the coop anyway, for preventing frozen waterers in winter, and light to help with winter egg laying. Mary
