coop redesign - help needed

Like @aart Mine roost on the front edge.

So, my poop trays are 2feet deep, the one perch is over the middle of the tray, then I put a 1x4 on the front edge of the tray to form a second perch.

I really like putting up a wire wall so that the "under the poop shelf space" becomes a brooder.

In my set up though that means the brooder is only 2 feet by 8 feet. That is great for a broody, or a few chicks, or more chicks for a short time..... but I think not as big as you wanted.
It might not be quite big enough for the bigger chicks, but a wonderfull idea for the first weeks. I might just be able to connect it to the chick space too. This idea is gold! :wee

so, here is a drawing of the setup I have right now and on the right I put in the things that are very hard to change around.

The two containers that are in the coop are actually rebuilt to be an infirmary or nursery when needed. I would like to get them out but the problem is that they were in before we put the door in and the door is just a tad to small to get them out again... :barnie I am considering making an extra door just to get them out, but that will cost me wall space where I could put roosts. They are useful, but they shouldn't always be in there and they are pretty big and heavy to handle...

I'd get them out of there.
Not sure how the fencing is attached to the framing, but is it possible to remove the mesh to get them out, then reattach the mesh?

So these are the drawings for what the roosts should look like, any more idea's to improve? I have put in brackets for easy removal to clean and don't give any critters the chance of hiding in crooks and crannies.

Nice sketches...but can't figure out what measurement each square equals?
Roosts need more space between, especially if they are at the same level.

No, the wire is impossible to get open without breaking down half the coop. It was made to stay in place :idunno So making an extra door is the only possibiliy of getting them out. I might be able to do that at the side of the run, so I have a door to go from the run to the chick coop and I can get the containers out trough that door. It would probably be a good idea anyway to have a door there.

The squares of the coop are 2 squares for 1 meter (I’m from Belgium, so we don’t use feet. 😜 But the measurements are noted down next to the sketch.
The sketches of the roosts don’t really have a scale, those I just freestyled and put measurements that I want next to them.
I can do 40 cm (15 3/4”) in between. If i go even wider I wont be able to pass anymore i think. And cleaning will get hard.

That's fine, just wondered about scale..and didn't pick it up cause not fluent.....good to note scale or write 'not to scale'.
