coop redesign - help needed

How tall are the nest boxes?

Because I would be tempted to put a 60 cm deep poop shelf along the long wall...however long you need, even the entire length of the coop.

Put one perch in the very middle, put one perch on the front edge.

Under the poop shelf put nests at one end, or wherever is easiest, and removable wire fronts for some or all of the rest of the "under poop shelf " space for chick brooders.

The super deep poop shelves that you have drawn in make me worry that you will be crawling into back corners to find hidden eggs or sick hens...or whatever.

Also..

I am a bit worried that with your current wire front design that it will be fiddly to pop in feeders and waterers and grab chicks without losing a few.

I would keep it designed as you have it, but add a bit more framing, so that you have a small door in the middle. Make the door just a little larger than your chick feeder and waterer.

The typical recommendation is a minimum 12" from the wall and 12" horizontal from another roost, whether same height or on higher than the other. If you have one roost, the poop board should be 12" on either side. If you have two roosts 12" the poop board should be 36" total width. Both edges 12" from the roost.
Great explanation! I needed this!! 🐥
