Coop remodel...who is with me???

Hi,
frow.gif

I'm right here with all of you. This is my very first time, so be gentle with me.

The coop that is mostly finished finally came over the fence from my wonderful neighbor.

But this is a process.
First I had to remove the shrub that was there, dig and transplant my precious Helleborus ( Christmas Rose) that was there, whack back the climbing rose, sort of level the ground, and find enough strong men, all at the same time, to do the job.
Step one done.

Now I'm removing an ancient raspberry planting in the heat.

Then to empty a several year compost pile to that spot. Then move the humungous leaf pile to the compost bin. Then I can move the coop to that spot and get to work on it

.
I do have the hardware cloth for the bottom.. that's something.

I'm thinking hanging with you folks , as I move slowly forward may be just what the doctor ordered.
You all will look like speed demons in comparison .

I had to finally start on this to push myself to complete this remodel before winter comes, my girls really deserve it

I also started on another 4'x4' portable coop that is framed and primed with a floor, but nothing else yet

I better go research building a bigger and better roost

My good buddy Steve built the new nest boxes, we attached them to the outside of the coop and it is very sturdy...very nice!

We used some old feed bags for a free roof. I plan to add a few more bag layers and then some roof shingles.

I bought the wood for new roosts, maybe tomorrow?
