I followed advice I read on here about having the door open inward to the run, instead of outward. I assume it makes it harder for the chickens to run out when you open the door. It has worked for me, except I had to drive a stake into the floor of the run to be a door stop, so the door wouldn't hit one of my waterers when it swung open without my holding it (like when I am carrying a feeder, etc). The run is not level anywhere and I had to dig out level spots for my Christmas tin water heaters.
