Coop / Run square footage question.

I think I will be starting out with only 4 or 5 egg laying hens. It seems by what you all have posted that they will have more than enough room. This sets my mind at ease.

I have a dog kennel of those exact dimensions. Since Im in Florida also, I felt I really didnt need a coop. I just covered one end of it with a tarp, put a roost under the tarp, put their feed and water and a laying box under the tarp, and it works just fine. I have one roo and 7 hens, and wouldnt want to put any more than that in there.
