I bought hardware cloth and cut it to fit the run - dumb question, but can I attach it to the run bars with zip ties or is there something better?

I would use Cable ties (zip ties), just fasten ties when inside the run so predator can't gnaw the connection point where the zip slides in. Circled in Red.
