Ok looking at placement of my coop. I have an 8x8 space to work with. Each way the coop will be elevated to 2 feet so total floor scape of the run is the same. What I'm wondering is would it be better to go 4x5 for a wider coop or 3x8 for a wider uncovered run?

As well is placing the run on a slight slant an issue? It's a drop of about 10 inches over 5 feet with a level spot at the mid point. Figure it would really help with runoff. Im in the great bear rainforest and we get 6 months or more of rain. Not downpours but consistent.

Will your coop be a walk-in coop?
How many birds do you plan on?
4' wide would be a minimum, IMO.
Why not go 4x8 for the coop?

Drainage is important, you'll have to figure out how to direct the runoff down the slope and hopefully around the run area. Covering the run with a solid roof with wide overhangs might help with that.

Sorry coop is for 4 hens. There will be wide overhangs on all side. No it's not a walk in. It will be elevated 2' off the ground.

Including the run?

Raised coops can be walk-in, just need steps.
Yes wide overhangs on the run as well. Will also be gravel channel running from behind the coop and down both sides if the run.

Yes they very much can be, however my local bylaws limit hight to no more than 6' so I am limited by that.
