Coop ventilation

Thanks all. This was helpful. I have an 80 Sqft Coop with 4 -1' × 1' windows on each long side, facing East and West. And 6" × 12" vents near the Peak on the North and South walls. I cuffently have 9 birds but plan to get a dozen more next year. The coop does not get very hot as it is heavily shaded by giant Oak trees. Sound sufficient to those in the know?...JJ

Do you have a roofed run?

Not sure how cold and snowy it is where you get...

But if your run isn't roofed, AND you get lots of cold and nasty winters, then the coop space will get a bit too small once you add more birds. Just if the birds end up confined to only the coopdue to weather for extended periods.... then you need way more than the recommended 4 square feet per bird.

As to if that is enough ventilation.... I forget how to calculate that. :idunno
