My coop is an unused horse trailer. I keep it in a fenced enclosure but living in rural NM with skunks, coyotes, raccoons, etc I find it secure and easy to clean.

Prove it. We need pics or we don't believe you...lol

You know...I've often wondered about using a horse trailer as a portable chicken coop. It would be a perfect to pull about the farm. The doors lock firmly in place. The rubber mats can be yanked out and washed. Easy to secure the windows with hardware cloth. You can tip the trailer for easy washing with a hose. I think if a person can find a used stock type trailer real cheap one would have a nice coop!

This was when the chicks were chicks now they are big and there is a roost as well as nest boxes.

Looks like you're almost there. Just need to finish the openings with hardwire to keep out the bad critters.

What you can't see is all of the openings are covered in chicken wire. I need to re-do the back door. Had to open it and took off the security fence. My dad was helping. In his mind he was thinking "whatever", in my mind I was thinking maximum security and gave serious thought to gun towers.
