We got our coop and run finished about a week ago. At first the girls wanted to spend all day outside. Now they want to spend all day inside their coop. They don't act sick so why are they wanting to be cooped up?

My girls spend lots of time inside coop during the day..... It's really hot here and they like the sand floors and shade..... We don't have a lot of shade in out yard.... They free range in morning and bf dark.... They will come out if I'm out there too.... Other than that they seem to perfer their coop....

It has been in the mid 80s. I put their coop in a place were they get shade about 90% of the day. As you can see in the picture they have trees everywhere! I'm sure their just going in there to sleep. Silly things.

Your lucky you have shade!! I've got to figure out something to do about not having any.... I have a tractor, so I can't really plant trees bc we move it every week...I'm thinking maybe planting dwarf crate myrtles in pots that way I can move them when we move coop. It's in the 90's here and only going to get hotter! Lol
