My 8 week old chicks are in the portable run in my backyard, near the house. I was outside cleaning the coop, but under the porch, cleaning roosting bars.
A Cooper's hawk flew over the chicks, and I watched as it turned back around to make another run at them and slammed into one of the big windows on the house, breaking its neck instantly.

Sad that the majestic bird died, but kind of funny at the same time as I imagine it licking it's chops only to slam into the window. Anyone remember the kids movie The Seventh Brother, and the hawk with the bloodshot eyes?

Are you quite sure that the Coopers Hawk didn't have a collision with one and a quarter ounces of number 6 bird shot?
