Coopers hawks

Mine will not eat those beatles! We get a crazy amount of them every summer. I've also noticed crickets are everywhere. Whenever I go into the coop I see at least 10 crickets just hanging out 😂
I think I either have very lazy guineas or they're picky.
My husband says we just have 8 more "pets".🙄
Oh my goodness- I jacked the coop up so I cld rake everything out from under it. The goons have been on a feeding frenzy every since.

My very first post on this forum was about my original 10 guineas not eating live bugs. The only one I have left out of that 10 is my big male and he is a bug eating machine . And maybe because all of the guineas that I've either hatched or bought have watched him or just done it on their own, I don't know but they all go for what ever the "bug du jour" is. And sometimes guineas can be very endearing, like when my big male catches a grasshopper and and gives it to his mate, it makes up for all the scratches I've got on my arms herding them out of the woods where I don't want them to be.

Yay! Someone else has seen this behavior! I told how when I first started giving them celery, the 3 males wld "kill" it then present to the female (now, for that, she's on her own). But the big gray male caught a grasshopper the other day,& after throwing and catching a few times, trotted over & gave it to her (she was in the kennel).
Sometimes when I share observations, I think "these ppl are going to think I'm nuts,"- so I'm glad I'm not the only one! 😊

To be fair...I think all guinea owners are a little "different". Lol
