i actually really like this its very smart and creative. it proves chickens dont have to have a 1000 dollar coop to be happy and its not ugly either i might have to do something like this for a broody coop if thats okay.

Your welcome to copy them. You do need to use stronger egg doors than my CD cases if you have raccoons. I had to screw them closed once the raccoons figured them out. You should also paint the totes. They degrade over time in the sun if you dont. Heres a little info on how to build them. http://cmfarm.us/cheapcoop.html

heres ours.. we have one large one and the yellow one, is for well.... more chickens next year!

Gramakoko....I've been admiring your coop for a couple of months and I have to say that it is the most beautiful coop I've ever seen. I just love it. Tdub

wow some of these are so creative... I am going to breed a couple of mine in the spring... may steal some ideas!

layers while still under construction last year... the layers now go out at 5am in the dark and hang out on the veranda and railing until it gets light... they feel OK there I guess because I ran electrics and an auto timer so they wake up at 5am and the light shines through their windows and lights the veranda

I have a turkey coop very much like the layers still under construction...

me thinks I'm addicted!...

I love your coops but I really, really like your brooder! It is like a little chick hotel!

Hmmm...might have to ask the hubby to try and build one like that!

I am almost done with making this one. It is out of the Coops for Dummies book with a few modifications. We just put the fencing up and moved the chickens in last night. Still a few little odds and ends to finish up but they are in!
Had a blast building it mostly by myself, only needed DH to help put up the walls and the roof.

Thanks

It actually worked really well and used stuff I had around... it is 32x48 if I remember correctly... I lent it to my boss in May... haven't seen it since! I will have to take it back in the spring but will let him think I gave forgotten it for now!
