I'm so sorry your boy is gone.

We don't realize how big a part they play in our lives until they are gone, but we continue to watch that we don't step on them or check their water. And we can still feel them at our feet.
He must have been a wonderful dog. Did they find out what happened to him?

i'll never know

his blood and x rays came out looking really good for his age, his white cell count was elevated, so that means infection, or even cancer. the next step to determine anything was an MRI. he was in so much pain he was calling out, shaking and whining. all this after pain meds. i couldn't take it anymore. even if we did get to the bottom of what was going on, it probably would have been a rocky, and expensive, road ahead and a 100 year old man just isn't gonna fare it very well. so i made the call, and nothing i have ever done has been harder. nothing. thank you all for your interest and imput and thoughts, they are all truly appreciated. maybe i will post some more pics of him for you all to see. he was quite a spirit <3
