Copper Black Chicks

I would recommend mergmet too, I met her in person and she is a superb person in every way, a very dedicated breeder with a vast variety of breeds. You should definitely contact her.

Those of you hatching shipped eggs.... Do you let the eggs settle before sticking them in the bator? Because shipped eggs have issues with floating air cells and settling them helps put those back into place.

Wow you guys must not have much patience because I put my order in during december and wow... I just got them in the mail yesterday. They have been sitting on my table settling I get to put them in the bator at 1pm.

I often wondered about Valentines. How dark were the eggs?

Finally, I gave up hunting begging and waiting on eggs from various breeders here.

I got my own eggs from over yonder across the big pond until I hatched some.

Yes let the eggs sit pointy end down before putting them in the bator. When I get shipped eggs I let them sit over night and set them the following morning. A few times I have been impatient but still wait 8 hours before setting them ( usually at midnight LOL )

I don't recommend getting eggs from overseas as I got "spanked federally" for it. Be VERY careful if you intend to import eggs.

Lmao. You go about it by getting a permit. I said nothing about getting them illegal.

I haven't bought any in quite a while because even with my import/export papers for my business, It's EXPENSIVE.

But be warned. Unless you can afford the expense. You may have to do it SEVERAL times before anything ever makes it to hatch or is even viable. Those styrofoam shippers that the UK breeders use are horrible. If you do buy permits and get a breeder. Do NOT buy if they ship in those.

I know one person that did get spanked but the only way they know is they keep a watch of US bidders on Ebay UK. They have not bought since that I know of.

idk if he contacts them privately or not. I don't ask and he don't tell.

And I don't want to know.

I have heard of some breeders that go to Europe, buy eggs and mail them back to themselves.

Not specifically Marans. Just breeders I have been in contact with over the years of various varieties.

Now back to the question.
