Among several other breeds, I have a young Copper Marans, born 8/26/19, who laid her first egg (a beautiful dark brown one) on February 1st and has laid an egg every third day since for a total of three so far. All three have been small, weighing just 36 grams each. My understanding is that they should be closer to 60 grams. My question is do you think her eggs will get larger as time goes on? I have been raising chickens from chicks for the past five+ years and haven't seen that happen before, but this is my first Copper Marans. I do understand that hens lay starter eggs, which are usually smaller than they will eventually lay, but I haven't ever seen it go on for three egg layings. What do you think? Just to eliminate this possible question, she is a normal sized hen, not a Bantam. Thank you for your help!

It can take a while for them to ramp up to "normal". Pullet sized eggs can go on for weeks or even months.
How long is months, cuz my BCM just turned a year about a month ago and she is only laying eggs 45g to 50g, and I’m worried that the biggest they are gonna get. 😩

Yeah most likely hers won't get much bigger if that's the case. Sometimes big hens lay smallish eggs, and small hens lay big ones. 🤷‍♀️
