Coral Vine (Antigonon Leptopus)

Coral vine is invasive in some areas especially the south. It spreads by roots so once you plant it, you won't be able to get rid of it. Not sure about the toxic part but I thought chickens were great about not eating plants that were toxic.

In general...dont plant vines or invasive species. We bought our home 10 years ago that had a pot of ground ivy on the front porch. Somehow during our construction/deconstruction of the house that pot got knocked over. Now its everwhere. Including the backyard. Unless you plan to use chemicals to keep it in one place...you wont. It will be a nightmare in maintainance for you.
