Cord attaching chick and egg?

I decided to give it a chance to fall off, and this morning when I transferred them to the brooder it did! The chick tried to squeeze between a waterer and a wall and when he came out the other side there was no longer an egg attached to him. Thank you all for your advice and tips!

Awe! Well im glad u picked that type, they are the easiest of the quails who are a good deal more difficult than chickens. You will have to get rid of any extra males somehow though or else theyll fight and injure one another and drive the hens mad then they wont lay. Do you intend to keep them in a hutch outside for eggs? What part of the world are you in? Climate is a big consideration with those adorable small birds :love i have about 40 of them right now ;) do you say three because you've been candling them watching them develope? So much fun!
I live in the United states. And we are building a hutch outside for them. And yes, I knew there because I have been candling them:) where I leave it can get pretty warm in the summer and pretty hot at night, but if they cant handle it when it's cold I'll get a heat lamp in there or take them inside. I'm keeping them for pets more than anything, but the eggs are a nice bonus:thumbsup
