Cordless heat source for winter water - Geothermal sink. Any more real life experiences? Works?

I have seen other applications done w/ larger stock tanks for cattle/horses in MT & CO. MANY years ago. No pics or video, though.

Have you seen this follow up video?

No, thanks!

I am gob smacked! I have read so many "can't be done" posts and this is the 1st time I have seen a reference that refutes that.

And one's own brutal common sense says "Yup, that will work".

The build makes it ever better. Everything done by hand, two novices could do it in a day.

SMH!

Thank you Kiki! Yes, but only about 2-3 hours ago as a consequence of posting this thread. Also very interesting!

The advantage for me to using geothermal is once setup it is a perpetual machine save perhaps light ice breaking in which case I would investigate a miniature bubbler (eg 1 bubble every 30 minutes...).

My run is covered and sides tarped so less exposed to snow & winds... big advantage.

There at least used to be an old periodical named Farm Show that was basically user generated articles of things people did around the farm.

At least a couple of times there were geothermal based waterer descriptions that were sent in.

Maybe one day...
