Thanks for the info, guys! Sorry I never replied, didn't even realize there were new replies!!
As you might have guessed, I never got the corgis but we now have Gator
We had to put the Lab mentioned here down a year later
We now have a completely different cat and dog. And they are getting so old already
Luna, the cat, is turning 7 in August and Gator turned 5 in March. Hard to believe it has been so long already.
Anyway, I will definitely keep all of your info in mind for future dogs because I do plan to get more eventually.
I think the corgi thing was more of a whim, I was really really into them at the time... and I was young. Speaking of which, I can't believe they never messaged me about posting all the ages or took it out, they messaged me about another post once. Not that it really matters as it was almost 10 years ago now.
I think I do still want a corgi though. And I love Aussies but they seem energetic?
Anyway, while we just got Gator as a pet, he is half Lab half Great Pyrenees, so he has also been pretty good with the chickens
i wouldn't trust him alone or them free ranging though and he used to jump at the fence but with training he's gotten better. We also didn't start him as a puppy or with chicks. I wouldnt let him near them so its made it harder but he is really good now and even lays near the pen and guards them
