"Dosage Level Mixing Directions
0.024% Dissolve 8 ounces of AMPROL 128 20% Soluble Powder in about five gallons of water in a 50-gallon medication barrel. Stir, then add water to the 50 gallon mark. Stir thoroughly.
0.012% Follow same directions as above but use 4 ounces of AMPROL 128 20% Soluble Powder.
0.006% Follow same directions as above but use 2 ounces of AMPROL 128 20% Soluble Powder."

Facts
  • One pack = 10 oz. (283.5 grams)
  • One ounce = 28.35 grams
  • One ounce of powder = ~3.5 tablespoons
  • 200mg amprolium per 1 gram

My twisted math for the .024% level
If 8 ounces (28.35g x 8 = 226.8 grams) are needed for 50 gallons, then 1/50 of that is needed for 1 gallon, right? So that would be 226.8 grams divided by 50 = 4.536 grams per gallon. (doing this as I type, so correct me if I'm wrong, please!)

Jumping into this. Wondering how can I break down the dosage to smaller amounts? I use water bottles with nipples. I have two bottles I will need to refresh and fill daily while treating. I have the 20% powder that I just bought. If I want to make a quart bottle to use to mix how much powder is that? I have an outbreak. This is not preventative!

Thank you!!

Do you have a gram scale? If not, just use 1/2 teaspoon per quart, that's not that much more than you should and it's about the same as using 11.25ml of the liquid per gallon.

2 teaspoons of 20% powder = 11.25ml of 9.6% liquid - Both have 1080mg of amprolium.

Corid is very safe and you will not hurt your birds using this amount.

How long do I provide the corid solution water for them? Do I keep it in there for five days or take it out wen they have drank one gallon? No clue what to do with that

Give a fresh drinking solution each morning. Throw out excess at the end of the day. Treat for 7 days. After the 7th day, follow up with vitamin-electrolyte-probiotic powder added to waterers for 3 days. Make a fresh solution each day. Keep waterers in shaded areas.

So if I accidentally only used one tsp per gallon for first 4 days (once I seen I was missing half tsp I added immediately) should I treat longer than 7 days with correct dose? Or just finish out the 7 days using right amnt? Thnx

I would do just the 7 days with 1.5, then 1-2 weeks with 1/3 teaspoon. That's what the mfg and the FDA recommend. Or you could just do the 7 days like Michael suggested.
