Corid and Toltrazuril together

Has anyone used Corid in water feeder for treating Coccidiosis then added and oral single dose of toltrazuril to enhance treatment?

I give toltrazuril orally once a day for three days, and sometimes I give them Corid water.

Hi thanks for responding. I have been giving my girls Corid in their water, we are on day 3, and just gave one of my sickest girls an oral dose of toltrazuril and planing to give her another tomorrow too. She’s the main reason everyone is getting treated. I was wondering if anyone else has done that too. I don’t want to do any harm, but I think I need to amp up this treatment because the diarrhea isn’t improving yet even though the girls seem more active. Thanks

Do you have the liquid or powdered toltrazuril, and how much are you giving?

Hi, I have the liquid toltrazuril 5%. I administered.020 ml mixed with 20 ml of water to my polish hen who weighs 1.5 lbs roughly. I think the dosage on bottle explains .020 per pound for chicken. I under dosed in caution. Any suggestions? Her poop is still very loose and frothy at times. Today makes 4 days on Corid, not sure if poop should have improved by now. She is still not her normal self. I appreciate any thoughts. Thanks

I use a much higher dose than that. The dose I use is 25 mg/kg.

The math is:
Weight of bird in pounds, divided by 2.2, times the dose (mg per kg), divided by the number of mg in one ml.

1.5 pounds / 2.2 / x 25 / 50 = 0.34 ml
